The Miami Heat started their 2022 NBA playoffs journey with a huge win against the Atlanta Hawks. After dominating the Charlotte Hornets and getting a close win over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the play-in tournament, the Hawks arrived in Miami confident in creating some issues for the Heat.

Well, none of that happened, as the Heat took care of business, and had a strong first half, setting the tone for the rest of the game. The 2020 NBA Finals runners-up had no mercy against Trae Young and co., beating them 115-91 at FTX Arena.

The Heat put up a clinic, dominating the Hawks that had no answer against them. If they don’t make the right adjustments for the rest of the series, they’ll have big troubles trying to get past the 1st seed in the Eastern Conference.

Some trolled Trae Young for not lighting up the Heat as he did to the Hornets and Cavaliers. Others simply praised the Miami Heat for playing great basketball and making a statement in the first game of their series.

The Heat entered the postseason with big expectations. They have a nice team to compete for the championship, and even though the Hawks aren’t the same team they were last year, this win means a lot for the Heat and puts the rest of the conference on notice.

Duncan Robinson with 27 points and Jimmy Butler with 21 led the way for the Heat. The Floridians just proved that they are legit contenders and they won’t miss a chance to demolish their rivals. The Hawks have a lot of work to do if they want to come back from this.
