James Harden had an incredible performance against the Boston Celtics in Game 1, turning back the clock and dropping a monstrous 45 points in a win.

Philadelphia 76ers fans loved seeing James Harden look like his prime self, especially considering that the team was without Joel Embiid. But while his exploits on the court caught the eye, his pregame outfit became a topic of discussion too.

NBA players in the modern era are known to be bold with their fashion choices and this was another example of that. James Harden has worn audacious clothes before, but considering the size of the playoff game, his choice came under little more scrutiny.

Fans can tend to be very cruel or very appreciative, the middle ground is hard to find when it comes to reactions on social media. But there were some hilarious reactions, most couldn’t believe that this was the look Harden chose for a night he would go on to dominate thoroughly.

NBA players are COMEDY imagine seeing this coming and he drop 45 LMAO https://t.co/Ab1viWQU3C

The Meta Gala took place recently. And while Harden would have probably liked to dominate the red carpet with a look like Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union did, he had to settle for the Western Conference Semifinals. A fan pointed out the coincidence of the dates.

More than anything else, the NBA is a results-oriented business. And if the fit worked to set him up for a 40-ball then it worked. As a fan said, considering the performance, this shouldn’t be the last time Harden wears this particular ensemble.

45 and a W .. without embiid

He might as well wear this every game lol https://t.co/EWNdKNutZH

James Harden doesn’t care about the haters, he has made that plenty clear in his career. But even the ones that proclaimed disdain at his outfit couldn’t say anything thanks to his incredible display against Boston.

James Harden Balled Out In Game 1 Against The Boston Celtics

Just one night after Stephen Curry did what he did to the Sacramento Kings, James Harden put in an all-time performance of his own. he had 45 points on 56% shooting from the field and seven made three-pointers. He was dominant, just like his Houston Rockets days, although he knows this is just the beginning.

Harden reminded everyone after the game that it was just one result and there’s no point in getting carried away. It bodes well for the Sixers, but they need to keep repeating it. James Harden ensured that no one was celebrating too hard, either. He goes all out with his outfits, but he knows what the priorities are.
