He does look a fair bit like Spencer Dinwiddie now because of this cut. It will be interesting to see if Kyrie plans to go with this look when the season starts.
The 2023-24 Season Is Going To Be A Big One For Kyrie Irving
The Mavericks gave Irving a three-year, $126 million deal, and not everyone was a big fan of that decision.
An NBA radio host felt that re-signing Kyrie spells the end of Luka Doncic’s time in Dallas. Justin Termine thinks the Mavericks should know that things won’t end well, based on Irving’s time with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, and Brooklyn Nets.
Recently, Charles Barkley said he doesn’t think the Doncic-Irving pairing works, and he was surprised the Mavericks gave Kyrie a big deal.
It is completely understandable that many have serious doubts about Irving.
He is an incredible talent who averaged 27.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game for the Mavericks last season, but it is undeniable that he causes issues behind the scenes as well.
If things go south with Dallas this upcoming season as well, then Irving is probably never getting another significant deal in the NBA ever again.
