Despite being one of the greatest players to ever take to the court in the NBA, LeBron James is one of the most polarizing figures in the league. While he has many fans who love him, he also has legions of haters who are ready to discredit each and every accomplishment he has.

While Skip Bayless may be the most famous NBA analyst to do this on a regular basis, another prominent journalist who does this is Bill Simmons. Simmons has criticized LeBron James in the past, even for the most absurd reasons. In fact, he said that LeBron’s ‘The Decision’ in 2010 happened due to the lack of a father figure in his life.

And now, Simmons got caught on Twitter for trying to undermine James once again. Simmons posted a graphic from the Brooklyn Nets’ game tonight, which showed Kevin Durant joining the list of players who have averaged 27 points per game in their entire career. He said no player has officially joined the list since Michael Jordan.

“I love the 27 PPG Career Club. So hard to crack (and stay there for your entire career). I mean look at those names! Nobody has officially joined since MJ.”

Most Career Points Per Game (All Time)

1. Michael Jordan: 30.12

2. Wilt Chamberlain: 30.00

3. Elgin Baylor: 27.36

4. Kevin Durant: 27.03

5. Jerry West: 27.03

6. LeBron James: 26.99

Fans quickly noticed that Simmons posted about this just a short while after LeBron James fell below 27 points per game in his career, now just .01 below with an average of 26.99 points per game in his career. They slammed Simmons for waiting all this time to post this infographic to make James look bad.

You had to wait 18 years to post this without LeBron lmfaooooo 🤣

Oh poor hater

It's for your entire career. Lebron's scoring avg will go down as he continues to age. He won't end up at 25ppg

U a hater for sure as soon as lebron dropped out u posted this shit 😩😩😩😩

He's the democrat version of Bayless

But the fact that Lebron came straight out of HS and Durant after his frosh yr hurts their career avgs more than the rest of the club.

It does seem a little convenient that Lebron has only recently dropped below 27 after playing longer and at a later age than almost all of those other guys. Durant will drop if he plays as long as Lebron.

— Mark Gottlieb (@MarkGottlieb) October 30, 2021

James fell to 26.99 just recently, and will probably fall below and rise above 27 throughout the course of the season. With Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook now in his team, James does not have to carry the load on the offensive end anymore.

But it is very convenient that this was the moment where Simmons chose to put up this list, and his comment about how Kevin Durant is the only player to do this since Michael Jordan when LeBron had been on the list for quite some time prior to this moment.
