Victor Wembanyama has been headlining sports sites and magazines worldwide, and now, his toe workout has been doing the rounds on social media.

In one of the clips, the No.1 overall pick was seen wiggling and moving his toes in order to warm up and strengthen them so as to remain injury-free. This earned rave reviews for him on Twitter.

“Builds strength in the bottom of your foot. Strong feet are very important,” a fan wrote.

This was seconded by another.

The plaudits continued.

Some lauded him for being a professional. “It’s a quick and easy laugh to poke fun at this but what I see is a man who is serious about his bag. Generational talent won’t mean anything if he can’t stay healthy. It’s about preventing foot injuries that many guys his size get. Invest in yourself and your health! Real Pro,” a tweet read.

Wembanyama’s size has already been a topic of debate. With centers usually the ones expected to take impact, it’s impressive to see how the young center is paying attention to the smaller details and keeping himself in injury-free condition.

Victor Wembanyama’s Toe Workout Explained

Earlier, the logic behind Wembanyama’s toe workout was explained by ESPN’s Brian Windhorst and Jonathan Givony

“With shoes and socks off sitting on the floor, Alquier has him crawl on his fingertips and toes in an effort to strengthen his core. Then there is the big toe: [athletic trainer Guillaume] Alquier spends a lot of time working on the big toes. He will put bands around each of Wembanyama’s big toes and stretch them to create resistance. Wembanyama grimaces as he goes through the drill, pushing back to create tension.”

It makes sense to see Wembanyama stretching and training his big toes. He will pretty much be under the rim fighting for relentless rebounds, and these exercises will surely put him in the safe zone.

Wemby has already made his intentions of winning a championship clear. And he’s leaving no stone unturned as he gears up for his maiden NBA stint.
