Over the last decade or so, the Golden State Warriors have built a reputation as one of the most well-run franchises in the NBA. As a result, the Warriors have produced great results in the last decade or so. They have been to six NBA Finals and have managed to win four NBA titles.

But every good thing has to come to an end one day. While the Warriors are the defending champions of the league, the 2022-23 NBA season hasn’t been good for the Dubs.

Keeping that in mind, there have been many doubts regarding if this is truly the last dance for the Warriors dynasty. NBA insider Monte Poole recently spoke about it on a podcast and shared that the key factor behind this is the potential departure of general manager Bob Myers.

“There is some concern within the Warriors that this could be the ‘Last Dance.’ This could be it for them because not all three of those guys (Steph Curry, Steve Kerr and Bob Myers) are guaranteed to come back next year. If Bob were to leave, I know Steve would be devastated and Steph will be disappointed. That’s why the pressure is on Joe to figure this thing out and decide what he wants to do. Bob is the guy who grew up in the Bay Area, he likes being with the Warriors.”

Warriors GM Bob Myers is currently in the final few months of his contract and is yet to sign a new deal with the Warriors. If Myers indeed leaves the Warriors, it would make Curry incredibly upset. After all, Myers and Curry share a great relationship.

Can The Warriors Still Save The 2022-23 NBA Season?

With the NBA All-Star break over, the Golden State Warriors aren’t exactly in a great position right now. They have a 29-29 record and are in the 9th spot in the Western Conference.

But underestimating the Warriors is never a good idea, and they still have a great chance at saving the season by making a late push.

Stephen Curry is expected to miss at least another week, but when he gets back on the roster, he will do everything in his power to steer the Dubs toward a decent seed in the West.
