NBA Insider Zach Lowe: “I Certainly Wouldn’t Pick The Clippers Over The Lakers.”

2 Min Read

Against all expectations, the Lakers took round one of the battle for L.A., securing their 17th Championship during the conclusion of the 2020 campaign.

But now, with the 2021 playoffs approaching, the Clippers are hoping for a different outcome — one that ends with them on top.

Unfortunately, there isn’t yet a whole lot of faith they can get it done — and ESPN’s Zach Lowe became the most recent doubter, saying he wouldn’t pick them to win over the current Lakers squad.

“The Clippers as of right now are not winning a championship, they’re good but not good enough, I certainly wouldn’t pick them over the Lakers,” Lowe says, via Lakers Daily.

After last season’s embarrassing performance, the Clippers entered the 2021 season with a huge chip on their shoulder and a whole lot left to prove. With Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and a solid supporting cast, it certainly seems like they’re in a good position to make things right.

But with this team, you just never know. Can they really overcome the might of LeBron James and Anthony Davis? Can Paul George finally step it up?

A lot remains to be seen, and many questions still need answering — but, for now, the subject of the Clippers’ fate remains a mystery.
