Allen Iverson Lost A 1-On-1 Against A Rapper And Refused To Pay Him $10,000: "He Started Beating Me Up, Fouling Every Time... Hell If I Was About To Pay Him."

Allen Iverson Lost A 1-On-1 Against A Rapper And Refused To Pay Him $10,000: "He Started Beating Me Up, Fouling Every Time... Hell If I Was About To Pay Him."

Allen Iverson has the best stories. The one thing AI can never be accused of is not living his life to the fullest. When he was an NBA superstar, Iverson went against social normal time and again, flaunting his tattoos and his bling. This earned him quite a bit of criticism from the media and fans at the time, however, it never stopped him from being who he was, which in turn inspired future generations of NBA stars to express themselves.

The flip side of Iverson's personality was that the way he lived meant that there were endless stories of his interactions with other people. Bubba Chuck, as he was referred to by the people that knew him best, was loyal to his friends, and knew how to have a good time with them. And during that time, even though he may not have spent obscene amounts at strip clubs like some claim, he enjoyed his fair share of shenanigans.

Iverson's game was a whole different situation though, there was no messing around on the court. In his prime, AI could take just about anyone 1-on-1, the man crossed up and beat Michael Jordan himself. But life is funny, and while Iverson was torching the best basketball players around, he once shared a story of how he lost a 1-on-1 duel.

Allen Iverson Lost A 1-On-1 Challenge To Rapper Mase, And Then Refused To Pay Him $10,000

Iverson had a lot of friends in the music community, and the rapper Mase was one of them. While playing a 1-on-1 against him with some cash staked on it, Iverson lost and blamed Mase for foul play, and then didn't pay him the wager amount (via Sportscasting).

“So we started playing, and once I stopped him five times in a row, he started beating me up, fouling me every time. I tied it at 19, and he knew he was in trouble because I shot a jumper and missed, and he grabbed the rebound and put it back in. He didn’t take it back or nothing. And then he ran off the court, jumping around like he won. Hell if I was about to pay him."

It didn't turn out to be a terrible situation between the two. Iverson thanked Mase during his Hall Of Fame Enshrinement Speech. And tiffs like this between friends are quite common even when they're not celebrities. The story is a fun reminder that the biggest stars are also just human, and that even AI himself lost a game here or there.
