Andrew Wiggins Fired Up After Leading Warriors To Game 5 Win Over Boston: “We Here And We Hungry”

Andrew Wiggins showed up with a massive performance in Game 5 to help the Warriors take a 3-2 lead at home over the Boston Celtics. On a night where Stephen Curry couldn’t even make a single three-pointer, Wiggins filled the gaps and was their best player on both sides of the ball as the Celtics failed to even crack 100 points.

The 1st overall pick from the 2014 draft is showing flashes of the player everyone expected him to be in the biggest games of the season. He is coming off an excellent performance in Game 4 and has continued that form with consecutive double-doubles and a consecutive win.

Wiggins was chosen for the post-game interview where the Canadian didn’t keep his emotions hidden.

“We’re here, we’re hungry, we want this.”

“Man I’m just tryna do every little thing to win. That’s it. I gotta score, rebound, or defend, anything I’m asked to do on the court to win, I’m going to do it,” when asked about his form on both sides of the ball.

“I’m excited. It’s an opportunity of a lifetime. I worked hard for it and the team worked hard for it. I’m excited and I can’t wait,” when asked about playing in his first-ever Finals close-out game.

People have started making an argument for Wiggins to be the Finals MVP if the Warriors win the title because of his efforts on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. While the award is most definitely going to go to Stephen Curry if the Warriors win, it is fun to see Wiggins play at this level.

If Wiggins can’t keep this form going, the Celtics have a strong chance of actually coming back into this series, so a heavy load will be falling on his shoulder for the last two games. Good thing is that he has proven he can handle it.
