Ayesha Curry Was Mad After Stephen A. Smith Compared Her To Savannah James: “Why Are You Putting Two Women Against Each Other Like That?”

LeBron James and Stephen Curry have a long history of facing each other in the NBA Finals. After all, the two superstars are counted among some of the best players of our generation.

Speaking of LBJ and Curry facing off against one another, the epitome of their rivalry was certainly during the 2016 NBA Finals. While most fans remember it for the amazing comeback by LeBron and co., at the time, there was another reason to remember that series.

Especially, the game 6 of the series, where the Cleveland Cavaliers won the game and it led to a frustrated Curry throwing his mouthpiece in the stands. This led to his wife Ayesha Curry tweeting about the incident. Although the tweet is now deleted, at the time, it became a huge deal for many.

Furthermore, in regards to the tweet, the ever-so-involved NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith spoke about the incident. Smith said:

Via New York Post:

“I got news for you: As beautiful as everybody wants to say Ayesha Curry is — and she is — Savannah is something special. Ain’t a man alive — especially a black man — that is going to look at LeBron James’ wife and not say that that woman ain’t gorgeous.”

Stephen A. might be a bold analyst, but Ayesha Curry is not someone who sits back while others take a shot at her. She responded to Smith by tweeting:

” @stephenasmith Why are you putting two women against each other like that? You’re the one that’s out of pocket.”

@stephenasmith why are you putting two women against each other like that? You're the one that's out of pocket.

— Ayesha Curry (@ayeshacurry) June 17, 2016

Fortunately, the issue didn’t escalate further as Smith later explained his point to everyone.

Regardless of the apology, the comments felt inappropriate to most. Instead of apologizing for his behavior later on, it would have been great if Stephen A. never made those comments. Anyway, almost six years have passed since that event, so it is quite like both Ayesha and Smith have moved forward from the incident.
