The Portland Trail Blazer and the Denver Nuggets will be battling each other in the playoffs, and we will get to see Nikola Jokic go head to head against Damian Lillard. Both teams have been perennial playoffs locks.

Nikola Jokic is the leading candidate for the MVP award, and he has brought the Denver Nuggets to the 3rd seed despite the injury to his electric co-star, Jamal Murray. Nikola Jokic has been on another level this season. While the Denver Nuggets aren't at full strength, it seems as though Damian Lillard will still be cautious about the matchup. In a recent interview with Sam Amick, Damian Lillard detailed his thoughts on the series and extended support for Nikola Jokic's MVP bid.

I mean, they’re not at full strength but a wounded animal is the most dangerous animal. I’m not going into here even thinking about who’s not on the floor, because the MVP of the league is on the floor. They’ve got a lot of talent.

He’s (Jokic) been dominating from start to finish. They are the three seed in the Western Conference. The numbers are there. I mean, (it’s) him or Embiid. I don’t see how you don’t give it to him or Embiid. And I would give it to him over Embiid just because Embiid missed games. He’s played more games than everybody. He’s been in every game, and he’s performed. Jamal Murray got hurt. Will Barton got hurt. And they kept rolling.

It is clear that Lillard has a lot of respect for his opponent, and it is obvious that what Nikola Jokic has done is incredible, despite the injuries. Nikola Jokic deserves the MVP award, and he will be a menace to opponents during the postseason.
