Chris Paul might be one of the most accomplished players in the NBA, but he has his haters within his peer group. The Point God has some friends in the NBA, and there are those who look up to him. But for each one of those, there are several who don’t have many good things to say about him.
This became more evident than before after the Phoenix Suns lost against the Dallas Mavericks in Game 7 last season. Patrick Beverley went on to do the rounds on sports shows after the loss calling Chris Paul a coon, among other things. And while some defended CP3 after everything Pat Bev had to say, it has become evident that he’s not the only person that feels this way.
DeMarcus Cousins is one of those players, he recently spoke about how he doesn’t understand why Paul is consistently mentioned in the conversations about the Top 5 point guards of all time.
“It’s Chris Paul,” Cousins said. “Every time I hear a top five PG list, Chris Paul is in it. And I’m not really understanding why. No knock to C.P., strictly from an accolades and a performance standpoint, I don’t think Chris Paul is top five.”
And while his words may have come as a shock to many people, it’s not like Cousins has hidden how he feels about Chris Paul. A video of something he said about the point guard last season recently went viral.

But while he may not have been able to lead the time to a championship, his legacy there isn’t as good as it might have been either. There seems to be an understanding among some players in the league that Paul isn’t very well-liked, and it’s a little hard to understand. So far though, a lot of the people taking shots at him haven’t accomplished as much as he has at the highest level, so at least CP3 can rest easy knowing that.
