Fans React To Kevon Looney Getting Beaten By Young Player At His Own Basketball Camp: “Ain’t No Way You Made Basketball Camp Just To Get Cooked Yourself”

3 Min Read

Kevon Looney has been one of the more understated players for the Golden State Warriors. Despite being a 2-time NBA champion with the Warriors, Looney doesn’t get the attention that the superstars of the franchise like Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, or Draymond Green get.

Looney is a mobile big who comes off the bench for the Warriors. So it’s only natural that his offensive and defensive contribution to the franchise don’t garner a great deal of attention.

Looney has gotten more attention as his role has grown with the Warriors. His minutes have increased since the departure of Kevin Durant and the Warriors’ injury-riddled 2019-20 NBA season. Despite this, Looney is considered an important part of the Warriors.

He has been kept around as a cornerstone of the franchise. Looney provides size to a fairly small Warriors squad. And while his output may not match that of other, more consistent bigs, Looney has proven to be an effective player who can contribute with limited minutes.

But what Looney underwent at his own basketball camp is not a good look for him. A clip of Kevon Looney guarding a young high school player at his basketball camp has gone viral.

That player gave Kevon Looney everything he had, even getting to the basket to score despite Looney making considerable contact. Naturally, social media had a field day with this, making a lot of jokes at Looney’s expense.

As a basketball player in the NBA, Looney is in the upper echelon of professional players all over the world. And as many do, Looney started his own basketball camp to help younger players develop their games in order to make strides in the professional ranks.

But even Looney did not expect that the players at the camp to get the better of him at a practice session. And that is exactly what happened to him, much to his dismay and much to the enjoyment of the internet.
