Isaiah Thomas and Joe Johnson are returning to the court next month when they wear the Team USA jersey. These players have been trying to find their way back to the NBA and this could be a great opportunity to catch the attention of any team in the association.

Adrian Wojnarowski announced both players’ decisions to join Team USA next February for the FIBA AmeriCup Qualifiers 2021. The national team will travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico, to continue their participation in the tournament. They were drawn in Group D with Bahamas, Mexico and Puerto Rico.

Thomas last played in the league with the Washington Wizards, the team that traded him to the Los Angeles Clippers that waived him after three days.

Longtime NBA guard Isaiah Thomas has committed to play for Team USA in the AmericaCup qualifying tournament Feb. 19-20 in San Juan, sources tell ESPN. Joe Prunty will be the USA coach.

Johnson was apart of the Detroit Pistons before the start of the 2019/20 season but the team decided to cut him before the start of the regular season.

So, the Team USA roster is taking shape for the AmericaCup in San Juan next month: Joe Johnson – seven-time NBA All-Star — is planning to play for the Americans too, sources tell ESPN. https://t.co/0OSlo5mEgJ

They have been trying to have another opportunity in the league, playing against current NBA stars, showing they are ready for the challenge but they’re yet to get a call from an NBA team. This can be a great chance for them to represent their country and also get the attention of one NBA team looking to add a veteran to their roster.
