Isiah Thomas Calls Out Michael Jordan And Chicago Bulls For Taking 3 Bad Boys Players To Win A Championship

Isiah Thomas had something to say about the Chicago Bulls ironically needing 3 Bad Boys players to win an NBA championship.

Isiah Thomas has taken offense with the fact that the Chicago Bulls used several Bad Boys players to win a championship. The legendary point guard has been engaged in beef with Michael Jordan for many years, and whenever he has the chance to diss His Airness, he doesn’t miss it.

The Chicago Bulls had to fight hard to become NBA champions, going through the Detroit Pistons at the start of the 90s decade to reach the NBA Finals for the first time and win the championship. In the years before that moment, they engaged in huge battles that the Pistons always won.

The so-called “Jordan rules” became a big thing to stop the GOAT, which was the start of this intense rivalry. After they got past the Pistons, there was no stopping for them, winning three consecutive championships until Michael Jordan retired in 1993.

After that moment, they became the best team in the world and made good signings to extend their dominance over the rest of the league. In the process, they landed a couple of former Pistons players, which didn’t sit well with Thomas.

The 2x NBA champion recently called out the Bulls for using three Bad Boys players to get a championship after criticizing them in the past. During a recent interview on The Pivot Podcast, Thomas had this to say (37:40):

“So the Bad Boys, we were so bad, right? I want you to look at the Chicago Bulls championship team. They had Dennis Rodman, John Salley, James Edwards, Robert Parish… They took half our team. And then took some of the Celtics team. Now, they was bad for us, but all of the sudden they’re good for y’all? As the good old saying, ‘come on, make it make sense.'”

Zeke provides a solid point here, but it’s also good to remember that the NBA is a business before everything else. We can see players who previously beefed teaming up like Matt Barnes did with Kobe Bryant and, more recently, Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley.

We all know that Dennis Rodman had to apologize to Scottie Pippen before joining the Bulls and he was fully committed to the team, and John Salley was friends with Michael Jordan, so that wasn’t that big of a deal for the Bulls players.

Then again, Thomas has made it clear that he will continue taking shots at MJ as long as he doesn’t get a public apology. He even called MJ an ‘a**hole’, and everything points out he will do it again in the future. This is one of the biggest feuds in NBA history, and it doesn’t look like it’ll have an end in the near future.
