Ja Morant has had a breakout season for the Memphis Grizzlies this year and deservedly won the Most Improved Player award. He looked like he has taken the leap to superstardom, and that showed in Game 2 in the Memphis Grizzlies’ series against the Golden State Warriors.
Although forward Dillon Brooks got ejected early, Ja Morant managed to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a win. He had an outstanding performance, putting up 47 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists, along with 3 steals. This was a great two-way showing from the point guard.
After the game, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN revealed an amazing fact about Ja Morant’s performance. He revealed that Ja Morant joined LeBron James and Kobe Bryant as the third player to have multiple 45-point games in the playoffs before the age of 23.

Being on a list with Kobe Bryant and LeBron James is a good thing for any young player. Hopefully, Ja Morant can continue on this trajectory, and his job is not done. The goal for the Memphis Grizzlies should be the NBA championship, and they have the talent to get to the Finals and potentially win it all.
The Memphis Grizzlies evened out the series 1-1 and based on the first two games, the series could go all the way to a Game 7. It is clear that both teams are unfazed by the moment, and are willing to play physical, tough basketball.
It remains to be seen if Ja Morant can continue leading the Memphis Grizzlies to wins against the Golden State Warriors. He has been carrying their offense in the second round, and we’ll see if some of his teammates can step up offensively to help him out.
