Jamal Murray On Nikola Jokic: “He’s Hitting Step Backs, Fading Away, Off One Leg, With A Hand In His Face, Consecutive Times. I’d Say He’s The Best Player In The World.”

The Denver Nuggets are one game away from making history and becoming the only team to return from a 3-1 deficit in the same season. Denver already did it against the Utah Jazz in the first round of the postseason and now they’re about to emulate themselves against the Los Angeles Clippers, one of the favorite teams for this season. The Nuggets have been playing great basketball lately, involving all their players in their offense but there is a big factor that makes things work so well.

Even though they’re a very solid group, Nikola Jokic is the glue that put everything together for these Nuggets. The team has very good players but the Joker brings that extra that takes them to the next level. Jokic finished Sunday’s game with 34 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists while shooting for 55% from the field. He led the Nuggets’ comeback with 11 points in the 4th quarter, including three 3-pointers that gave them the lead in the last minutes of the game.

After the game was over, Jamal Murray had some big words for the Serbian big man, calling him the best player on earth right now.

“He’s hitting step backs, fading away, off one leg, with a hand in his face, consecutive times.,” Murray said, via Ben Golliver of the Washington Post. “I’d say he’s the best player in the world… It was a team effort but Jokic definitely carried us.”

Jokic keeps demonstrating he’s the most versatile big man in the game and the Nuggets have a big chance to beat the Clippers as long as their best player keeps this level. They have forced a Game 7 and the Joker will bring the best of his game to make history once again.
