Jaylen Brown Avoids Beef With Al Horford After He Said The Celtics' Team 'Has To Look In The Mirror': "Nah. No Comment."

The Boston Celtics have had a tough few years. The once-great franchise has been building around their young core of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. While the team has been a playoff fixture during this time, there have been questions about their identity going forward.

That is exactly what Celtics veteran Al Horford believes. He recently said that the Celtics team needs to search for his identity and the team 'has to look in the mirror' going forward. But one person on the team doesn't seem to agree; Jaylen Brown. But he avoided making any detailed comment in order to keep the harmony.

"Searching and looking in the mirror? Nah. No comment."

Perhaps Brown may be objecting to Horford's comments, given that the Celtics have made Brown and Tatum the focal points of their attack. But that hasn't yielded the long-term results that the Celtics have hoped for. While the duo has a lot of time yet, there is still hope that they can come to fulfill their potential.

These comments could not have gone down well with Brown, Tatum, and head coach Ime Udoka, as it puts into question their level and Udoka's tactical prowess. Perhaps these comments will be addressed internally, in order to avoid any legitimate tension among the roster.

Could the Celtics' young stars use these comments by the veteran Horford to motivate them going forward, and perform at a level they haven't reached as of yet. Both players are incredibly talented but are yet to show that they can play together at a high level, and lead the Celtics to championship success.

The Celtics need to start finding more consistency, especially given how much more competitive the Eastern Conference is this season, with teams like the Cavaliers and the Bulls performing better. But if they can get things right, they will be in the NBA playoffs once again.
