Trust Joel Embiid to make an epic comeback after Kevin Durant let out a string of tweets calling the Philadelphia 76ers’ big man for flopping.

Safe to say, Embiid took to Twitter to put one over the Nets’ star with one funny video. During the game, the center pulled out a WWE celebration which Durant mocked, only to receive a well-thought-out creative response.

After the game, Embiid quoted Durant’s reaction with a thigh-slapping-funny WWE compilation comprising of references to the original taunt. The video, interspersed with instances of the duo’s own rivalry, went viral.

All things considered, it’s safe to say that it’s good banter between these two players.

Kevin Durant Progressing, Philadelphia 76ers Climb To Second Place In The East

The good news is on the horizon for the Brooklyn Nets as Kevin Durant is slated to suit up before the All-Star break.

Durant suffered an MCL sprain in the team’s clash against the Miami Heat and has been sidelined since, with the Nets suffering a bit in his absence. Much of their scoring load fell on Kyrie Irving during this period, but their stellar performance in December still has them placed fourth in the East with a 29-18 record.

Per the Nets, here’s the complete update (via CBS Sports):

Kevin Durant’s right MCL sprain was reevaluated yesterday by Dr. Riley Williams III at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Dr. Williams is very pleased with Durant’s recovery thus far, as he is progressing well and as expected. Durant will continue to strengthen his knee and begin running and on-court basketball activities this week. He is scheduled to be reassessed in another two weeks.

In the meantime, the 76ers have been quietly going about their business, notching up six wins on the trot to move to second place on the table. They are 31-16 and primed to make the playoffs.  The two teams have a chance to play full strength when they lock horns in February.

It’s worth watching Durant and Embiid take each other on, whether there are more WWE celebrations in the offing remains to be seen.
