Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time and arguably the most famous athlete to ever exist. The Chicago Bulls legend became a huge legend during his time with the Bulls in the 80s and 90s, racking up so many accolades and breaking several records in Windy City.

Given his incredible talent, the way he performed on the court, and his personality, MJ became a person of interest to whoever knew who he was. As a megastar, he had to be careful when going out, especially to party, as he didn’t want to draw a lot of attention.

Still, that never worked, as MJ was MJ, and everybody could recognize him no matter where he was. That’s what usually happened when he went out with teammate John Salley. Jordan was so great that wherever he went, he had a huge impact, and people started looking for ways to please him.

John Salley Recalls How Important Michael Jordan Was During His Best Days

During a recent conversation with Shannon Sharpe on his ‘Club Shay Shay’ show, Salley talked about how famous and mythical Jordan was and how people acted differently in front of him. Once, they went out to a club, and the owner couldn’t believe it. They had to make sure everybody knew His Airness was at their club.

“The owner of the club came up and said: ‘What MJ’s in my club?!’ He stopped the music and cut the lights on so everyone could see that Michael was there … He changes the way people move.”

Jordan was really a huge deal during his best years. He was really up there in terms of popularity and everybody wanted to be close to him. MJ had one of the best careers in NBA history, as he won many accolades with the Bulls and on his own. He’s widely considered the greatest of all time for many reasons, and if somebody has doubts about how great this man was during his best days, this story is a big proof of that.
