The Cleveland Cavaliers have had a surprising season thus far, as they are 3rd in the Eastern Conference. Not a lot of people envisioned them having this type of year, and they've certainly been intriguing to watch.
A large part of their success has been the play of point guard Darius Garland. Garland is the lead guard on the Cleveland Cavaliers, and he is currently averaging 19.1 PPG, 3.0 RPG and 7.3 APG.
Kendrick Perkins has recently claimed that Darius Garland should be an All-Star reserve, and added that he is the 2nd best point guard in the Eastern Conference behind Atlanta Hawks superstar Trae Young.
Outside of Trae Young that young Stud Darius Garland is the 2nd Best PG in the Eastern Conference and he should be an All-Star Reserve this year!!! Carry on...
Darius Garland is having a great year, but there are certainly other great point guards in the Eastern Conference that will be competing with him for an All-Star spot. LaMelo Ball of the Charlotte Hornets and Jrue Holiday of the Milwaukee Bucks come to mind. With that being said, Garland is clearly a deserving All-Star reserve, and he is clearly contributing to team success.
We'll see what happens in the future. All-Star voting hasn't opened yet, so there's still some time for players to put their best foot forward and show that they deserve to be selected to the All-Star game. There is a lot of talent in the league currently, and the competition for those spots is tighter than ever.
However, Darius Garland has shown enough to impress a former player like Kendrick Perkins and he isn't alone in thinking Garland is that good. It was previously reported that superstar Stephen Curry views Garland as a "flat-out star" as well. It is clear that the future is bright for Garland, and perhaps we'll see him make his first All-Star team this season.
