Kendrick Perkins Jokingly Takes Credit For Doc Rivers' Playoff Wins: "Doc Rivers Got 103 Playoff Wins And I Helped Him Get 42 Of Those Wins!"

Kendrick Perkins has made himself a household name with his analysis, often filled with hot takes and passionate arguments. Big Perk has fallen on his face a few times with some of his takes and has been roasted for it too. But he normally provides a lot of entertainment for NBA fans with his opinions on ESPN as well as on his personal Twitter account.

Perkins is an NBA champion too, winning it all as a part of the Boston Celtics in 2008 when he played alongside the Big 3 of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett. That team was incidentally coached by Doc Rivers, who is now the Head Coach of the Philadelphia 76ers. On Sunday, the Sixers beat the Miami Heat to tie their series up at 2-2 going back to Miami and giving Rivers his 103rd win in the playoffs.

And while many were congratulating Rivers and Philadelphia on the win, Perkins got involved to remind the NBA world that he was very much a part of all the postseason success that Doc has enjoyed as a coach.

"Doc Rivers got 103 playoff wins and I helped him get 42 of those wins!!! Don’t mind me tho and Carry on…"

Perkins and Rivers were both on the Celtics from 2004 to 2011, a timeframe that saw them win the NBA championship and make a few more deep runs with the Big 3 that they had assembled which included Rajon Rondo. Perkins averaged almost 12 points per game in 2008-09 along with 11.6 rebounds in the playoffs, but the Celtics lost in 7 games in the second round to the Orlando Magic.

Otherwise, Perkins only averaged more than 5 points per game on two other occasions, so it's a bit ridiculous of him to claim the credit. He is also obviously joking though, it was always clear that Pierce, Allen, and mainly Garnett were the main men on those teams that Doc was able to lead to so much success.
