The Boston Celtics have started the year off pretty well. Despite some bad losses, they seem to have regrouped, and find themselves with a 6-3 record, good for the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference. A huge part of that has been the duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Both are starting the year off hot, and look like complete three-level scorers.
One of the people praising the duo is a former Celtic himself, Kendrick Perkins. Kendrick Perkins knows what it takes to win, as he played with the 2008 Boston Celtics championship team. Perkins sent out a Twitter post that praised the two.
Perkins claims the Brown and Tatum are a top 3 duo in the NBA. While they are certainly in the top tier of duos in the NBA, it is still to be determined if they are truly a top 3 duo, as it is too early in the season. This year does seem different: with Kemba Walker's injury, the reins of the franchise have been handed over to the Celtics' young duo. So far, they are handling the increased offensive load well and are both looking like All-Stars. With Kemba Walker back, the Celtics could be on their path to the Finals.
The Boston Celtics have always been a good team under Brad Stevens. The time has come for them to make the jump to be a true championship contender. With the improvement of their young stars, they might just be one.
