After making such a controversial jump to Golden State in 2016, Kevin Durant only stuck around for three seasons before skipping over to Brooklyn.
Naturally, fans have wondered (and are still wondering) what exactly it was that led to Durant’s departure from the team he won back-to-back titles with.
For many, it was the treatment by the fans that spelled the end.
Because he wasn’t as beloved as Steph Curry or the other Warriors “homers,” it was believed that KD felt like the odd man out, and it’s an idea that is still being perpetuated today.
? The treatment is not from Warriors fans lol it’s from media. KD a different story he just had it in his head GSW fans had it out for him… still to this day smh https://t.co/Ehs7mdk7xJ

Durant, being the Twitter warriors that he is, quickly shot that notion down in what has become his latest session with a fan.
U made this up fam…like outta thin air

Definitely weird. They wanna believe I was jealous of my teammates which beyond laughable

It’s hilarious that people think I cared about who gets cheered the loudest…where is all this even coming from?

Ethan Strauss really got in your head about this. Before he wrote this book could u tell that I cared about which warrior was loved the most?

In the past, Durant has made some comments suggesting that he was somehow treated differently than some of the other Warriors players, but he has never actually come out and said how it impacted him, or whether it was the reason he left.
From what the guy is saying now, he doesn’t care at all what kind of favor fans show towards his teammates, and that certainly seems to match up with his personality.
Whatever the case, if you make accusations about Kevin Durant, you run the risk of being called out. KD is going to defend his name.
