Kevin Durant and LeBron James have been in the conversation for the best player in the league throughout the last decade. While James has dominated the conversation for much of that time, in recent seasons, KD has made his claim for the title as well. This season wasn’t ideal on that front for either though, the Lakers never made it into the postseason and the Brooklyn Nets were comfortably swept in the first round by the Boston Celtics.

James was on vacation while the first round was going on, and he posted about it quite a bit, something that didn’t sit too well with some fans. There is an idea that NBA players should immediately start working on next season if they end it disappointingly, and while that’s simply not possible, there are people who continue to push that narrative.

Well, with Kevin Durant’s season also having ended, he was pictured clubbing in Greece with his arm around a girl, and a fan quickly compared it to LeBron James who is now back and training his body already.

Now, panning KD for taking some much-needed rest still doesn’t make any more sense than panning LeBron did, but, naturally, fans of James would respond in a manner like this. In any case, there were mixed reactions from other fans in the comments to the post, including fans defending KD.

“Bron didn’t even make the playoffs.”

“That’s why LeBron > KD0RealRings.”

“Bron was just on vacation.”

“Bron putting together that geriatric squad is the reason we didn’t do anything. Kyrie’s bullsh*t was out of KD’s hands.”

“I understand the logic and all but Bron season been over KD season just ended.”

“Y’all really gotta stop these posts.”

“People were clowning LeBron when he was vacation, don’t switch up now.”

“I got nothing against KD vacationing, but where was this energy to defend Bron?”

“We need to let all these guys live, damn.”

“KD is single, man, you can’t expect him to stay in.”

“Wasn’t Bron just in Cancun?”

There seems to be a general understanding from most that slandering players for taking some deserved time off doesn’t make too much sense, but the banter is unlikely to stop anytime soon. The one thing that fans can be sure of is that both players will be back with a vengeance next season.
