Kevin Durant On Steph Curry Breaking The 3-Point Record: “It’ll Never Be Broken Again.”

Not too long ago, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant were torching the NBA together in Golden State, forming what will go down as one of the best duos in basketball history.

Today, the two are rivals and could even play against each other in the Finals for the Championship.

Still, it’s clear that they still have a whole lot of love and respect for each other.

On The ETCs podcast, KD had a lot to say about his former teammate in light of him breaking the All-Time 3-point record.

“Anytime you can break an NBA all-time record, regardless of what it is, especially something as significant as the 3-point shot,” says Durant. “And then he has like, let’s say he’s got seven, eight more years of playing.

“So he’s going to shatter it, and it’ll never be broken again. And so when you start thinking about all that stuff, that can make you emotional.”

While the two may not be as close as they once were, there is no erasing the years of memories they created together.

After Steph broke the record, Durant actually met with Curry while grabbing a bite to eat in New York City:

“I was leaving my house about to grab some food somewhere else, and some people outside were like, ‘Yo, Steph’s across the street.’ I’m like, ‘Damn, really? Alright let me go say what’s up.’”

It’s great to hear that the two are still friends today and that even amid all the craziness going on all over the country, they still have time to chill.

Regarding the 3-point record, he’s still got years of playing left ahead of him. Durant was right when he suggested Steph will completely shatter it by the time it’s all said and done.

But whether or not it will be surpassed remains to be seen. At least, for now, it’s hard to imagine anyone passing Steph in that category.
