Despite having been a disaster for most of their existence, the New York Knicks might have the loudest, most loyal fanbase in the NBA.
Come rain or shine, Knicks fans are always there to root for their team, and even sometimes laugh at the dysfunction of the franchise.
But now that the Knicks are finally getting their act together, the fanbase has gotten even more rowdy than usual, and it's clear they have a very defensive state of mind about their team and the players.
In fact, in a recent list of the Top 125 players, Knicks fans rioted after finding out RJ Barrett was not included.
Here are some of the best reactions we saw:
RJ Barrett gets no respect at all on these things. 20 years old, scored almost 18 a game, 40% from 3, and was a solid multi-positional defender. But I guess Alex Caruso is too big a superstar to have RJ in the top 125 players in the league.
His argument that RJ Barrett (who had an eFG of 49.9%) was left out of the top 125 because he was under 50% eFG was elite Knicks fan trolling.
how the f*ck is RJ Barrett not in your top 125 players but Olynyk and Zubac are smh
Truth be told, it's always difficult to create rankings like this. With hundreds of players around the league, there's always going to be a few that get left out or misrepresented.
In this case, it happened to be RJ.
Despite being a solid player for the Knicks, who averaged 17.6 points per game last season, Barrett doesn't seem to be wearing much attention from analysts and non-Knicks fans.
No doubt, it will only fuel Barrett moving forward. But, really, what else can we expect from him?
At 21-years-old, he's only just tapped the potential of his talent, and there is still a long way to go before he reaches the apex of his game.
So, while the guy might not be in the public eye much now, it's only a matter of time before he starts getting recognized for the great player he is.
