The Los Angeles Lakers have had their fair share of woes this season. They were touted as a championship-level team at the start of the season, but they have fallen far below expectations.
Recently, the Los Angeles Lakers fell out of the play-in tournament. They are currently trying to get back in, and potentially make the playoffs via that route. As such, their latest matchup against the Denver Nuggets was a must-win game.
Even though this was mostly a close game, the Los Angeles Lakers were simply unable to win out against the Denver Nuggets, even with Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook having outstanding performances. Many Lakers fans criticized the team for their subpar performance, and it seems as though a lot of people are simply done with the team.

Prior to this game, Anthony Davis expressed confidence in the fact that the Los Angeles Lakers could go undefeated for the rest of the season. Clearly, that didn’t happen, but the Los Angeles Lakers still have 4 games they can win to finish the year on a strong note.
“We know the situation that we are in, and even though I’ve got soreness in my foot, he’s got soreness in his ankle, we felt like this was the game we had to play and obviously the next five games as well just try to control what we can control. Our mindset is to go 5-0 in these games and let the chips fall where it may. We dropped this one, but have five left to try to, you know, control what we can control and hopefully things will fall in our favor.”
It is quite possible that the Los Angeles Lakers end up missing the play-in tournament entirely this year. In that case, the best move for the team would be to regroup in the offseason and figure out a way to build a competitive team around LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
The Los Angeles Lakers roster situation is not good currently, but it could potentially improve in the future. Hopefully, that happens sooner rather than later, and perhaps we’ll see the team win another championship in the near future if the right moves are made.
