The Charlotte Hornets have found their late-season form after toppling the Dallas Mavericks 108-129 to extend their current win streak to four games. With the Eastern Conference playoff race tightening, the Hornets have gotten hot at the right time and look to make a push towards a top-six seed. All-Star point guard LaMelo Ball led from the front with an efficient 17 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals against the Mavs.
Ball was starting his post-game courtside interview where he was talking about the Hornets’ gameplan to stop the Dallas Mavericks when he was grabbed from the shoulders by teammate Miles Bridges. LaMelo responded by saying he wants to be professional before relaying ‘he could f*** that boy (Bridges) up’.
Later in the interview, another Hornets’ teammate slaps LaMelo in the back of the head, after which the All-Star just looked at the interviewer and said ‘today is f*** with Melo day’.

LaMelo Ball is giving Anthony Edwards a run for his money in terms of hilarious post-game interviews. After Charlotte’s last game in 2021, Ball told the interviewer how it’ll be a new year and a new him, before correcting himself and saying ‘same me, though‘. He brought that back at the end of this interview after it was pointed out that the Hornets are undefeated since Ball got a haircut.
Charlotte is the 9th seed and is five games behind the sixth-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers. The trek to 6 may be too much for them at this point of the season, but securing a seventh or eighth seed will give them a longer route in the play-in tournament.
The Hornets were bolstered by the Mavericks not having Spencer Dinwiddie or Reggie Bullock available, which meant that Luka’s ultra-efficient 37-point performance would go in vain as the Hornets stifled the other Mavs and walked out with a 20-point win.
