LeBron James Believes Jerry West Would Average A Double-Double In Today’s NBA

1 Min Read

Amid the NBA’s hiatus, the basketball community has extra time to look back and appreciate the greatness legends.

LeBron James has obviously been doing his homework. A week ago, he gave a shout-out to Larry Bird, insisting on IG that he would be dominant in “any era.”

Yesterday, he turned his attention to Lakers legend Jerry West, a 6’2″ point guard who played from 1960-1974. When posed with the question of what he’d average in today’s NBA, Bron didn’t waste the opportunity to give some credit to an icon.

West is the figure behind the NBA’s infamous logo — and there’s a reason for it. In 14 years, he posted averages of 27.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 6.7 assists. He made the All-NBA team 12 times, was an All-Star every year he was in the league and won a Championship in 1972.

Of course, there’s no telling how he’d do in today’s NBA. Things have changed a lot since he retired over 40 years ago.

But for King James, he doesn’t seem to doubt it.
