It has been an up-and-down season for the Los Angeles Lakers. After a historically bad start, the team is approaching the .500 mark with a few weeks to go before the trade deadline.

Nobody is sure what to expect from this Lakers team over the next few weeks, but the vibes are immaculate right now and L.A. wants everybody to know about it.

On Twitter, the team posted a behind-the-scenes video of the locker room during their latest game, which featured some words of motivation from head coach Darvin Ham, LeBron James, and Russell Westbrook.

Ham: “We know in this room what we can be. We just gotta keep stacking and keep building, keep building things the right way. Being together, being competitive, being aggressive, Let’s keep this going…”

James: “Let’s get greedy, let’s get real greedy.”

Westbrook: “Just keep having fun. Win, lose, or draw.”

The Lakers are still undefeated in 2023. Starting with a victory over the Hornets on January 2nd, they have won five straight games and now sit just three wins away from a .500 record.

In true Brooklyn Nets fashion, the Lakers seem to be in the middle of a miracle turnaround, but how has it been possible?

LeBron James Reveals The Secret Behind L.A.’s Red Hot Run

While the future remains uncertain for the Lakers, LeBron James doesn’t seem too surprised by his team’s recent play. As he revealed to the media after the Lakers’ latest win, there are several areas that the team has seen a major improvement.

“I guess it’s just trying to play basketball the right away, especially offensively. You know, moving the ball, sharing the ball. Equal opportunity for everyone and then defensively, just flying around helping each other,” said LeBron. “We’ve done a great job of defensive rebounding when we get stops. We do a good job of getting stops, but at times, especially early in the season, we didn’t have a lot of second-chance points and things of that nature, but tonight we had 44 defensive rebounds. That’s pretty amazing. So, we was very locked in on the keys at hand and only gave up 4 second-chance points.”

Of course, the job is not yet done for the Lakers. It’s a long season and we’re not even halfway through it.

But thanks to LeBron James, and the improved play of the supporting cast, this Lakers team has a chance, and that’s more than we could have said weeks ago.
