LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers suffered their fourth consecutive defeat since the All-Star break last night. In their final game against the LA Clippers this season, the Lakers put on yet another poor performance, as the Clippers completed the season sweep over them.

After the game, LeBron James spoke about the LA Clippers beating him and the Los Angeles Lakers 4 times this season. James gave a blunt answer that seemed to perfectly sum up the difference between the two teams as things stand and over the course of the season.

“They were the better team.”

LeBron and the Lakers just can’t seem to get things right, as they’ve been extremely poor during the course of the season. Currently, the Lakers are 8 games below the 500 mark. And the Lakers are in serious jeopardy of missing the playoffs altogether. Things have to change quickly if the Lakers want any shot at success this season, or they run the risk of wasting one of the final seasons of LeBron James’ career.

Lakers fans were devastated to see the way their team played, with many, even contemplating not watching another game this season. It’s hard to think of a Los Angeles Lakers team that has been this poor over the years. What makes the Lakers’ season so much more disappointing is the expectations of them at the start of the season.

The Los Angeles Lakers were considered favorites to win the NBA championship this season. And they haven’t played to that level. If anything, the Lakers have looked like a lottery team at different points of the season. Given the star power the Lakers have available to them, this is not the kind of performance they should be putting on against a team that is missing its 2 best players.
