A few years ago, recording a triple-double in the NBA was considered a big achievement. While many players still did that, the level of consistency wasn’t there. Nowadays, the game has changed and players tend to master multiple skills in order to succeed in the league.

As a result, fans see a lot of triple-doubles being recorded. Even among these players, a few stand above the rest. The first name that might come to anyone’s mind is none other than Mr. Triple-Double Russell Westbrook.

Apart from Russ, the Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic has also established himself as someone who can record triple-doubles with ease. Doncic’s ability to do the same is evident with the recent game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The European superstar scored 33 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and dished out 15 assists against the 76ers. Well, it was Luka’s 44th career triple-double. Following this performance, the 22-year-old has already entered the NBA history books.

As of now, he is at the 10th spot in the list of most triple-doubles recorded in NBA history. Truly, a great achievement from the Mavericks’ cornerstone player.

Considering he is only 22-years-old and has his whole career ahead of him, it is a great feat by Luka. The way he is playing, it will not be a surprise if he also passes Larry Bird on the list and gets to the 9th spot on the prestigious list.

Speaking of Doncic’s performances this year, he has been averaging a stunning 26.2 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 9.1 assists while shooting 44.6% from the field. Although Doncic can probably improve his shooting percentage, the rest of his stats are pretty stunning.

Despite that, he is not getting much attention from the media about this season. It is probably due to the fact that everyone has gotten accustomed to seeing Luka put up such numbers.

In the future, Doncic will most likely win a couple of regular-season MVP awards, but the only question is whether he can carry the Mavericks to an NBA Championship. He is there with the franchise for the foreseeable future and if he can help them win a ring, he will be cemented as one of the greatest players in Mavericks’ history.
