Mason Plumlee Shares The Story Of When Kevin Garnett Took His Food In An Airplane And Gave It To An Older Teammate

2 Min Read

There are plenty of stories about Kevin Garnett and his personality both on and off the court. The Minnesota Timberwolves, Boston Celtics legend starred in many incredible moments during his career, and Mason Plumlee has one of the best anecdotes about the Big Ticket.

Back in 2015, the big man shared an epic story of Garnett hazing rookies when he was part of the Brooklyn Nets. The first time he boarded the team’s plane, Plumlee was offered an order of crab cakes. He took it without knowing the consequences of that decision.

Talking on ESPN’s “Highly Questionable,” Plumlee recalled how KG gave him a big lesson. Garnett found out the rookie got his food before other players, took it, and gave it to an older teammate (1:50).

If that wasn’t enough, Garnett made him serve the rest of the team until the plane took off. This is a big story, but it looks ridiculous. Still, that’s the way NBA players used to treat rookies in the middle of the 2010s.

This is not the first time we hear KG involved in these stories, and it probably won’t be the last. He made sure to leave a mark on the game, and Plumlee is a big example of that.
