A one-of-a-kind Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant card has just set sports card history, selling for a staggering $12.932 million at Heritage Auctions. The sale makes it the most expensive sports card of all time, going past two of the most legendary baseball collectibles ever produced.
The card in question is the 2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection dual Logoman autographed patch card, featuring game-worn NBA logo patches from both Jordan and Bryant, along with their signatures.
The piece had been projected to fetch around $6 million. Instead, it more than doubled expectations, climbing to nearly $13 million in the early hours of Sunday morning.
For years, the sports card throne belonged to baseball. The T-206 Honus Wagner and the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle #311 were considered the legends of the hobby.
The Mantle card, graded a near-perfect 9.5, sold for $12.6 million in 2022. Wagner’s legendary card has sold for as much as $7.25 million.
But this Jordan–Bryant dual Logoman card now sits above them all, a passing of the torch from baseball’s Golden Age to basketball’s modern icons.
The sale also dwarfs previous basketball records: a one-of-one Stephen Curry 2009 Panini National Treasures Logoman autographed patch rookie card that sold privately for $5.9 million, and Luka Doncic’s 2018 Logoman rookie patch card that sold publicly for $3.12 million in 2022.
Both Jordan and Bryant have long been staples in the trading card market, but their highest sales prior to this were nowhere near the new benchmark. Jordan’s previous record was $2.93 million for a 2003-04 Upper Deck Ultimate Logos Logoman card. Bryant’s most expensive sale came just weeks ago, when his 2015-16 Panini Flawless Logoman autographed patch went for $2.3 million in a private transaction.
The appeal of this dual Logoman lies not only in its rarity, it is the only card ever produced featuring both Jordan and Bryant’s Logoman patches together but also in its historical detail. The Jordan patch included is the gold NBA logo variant used during the league’s 50th anniversary season in 1996-97, adding an additional layer of significance.
While the record for any sports memorabilia still belongs to Babe Ruth’s 1932 “called shot” jersey, which sold for $24.1 million in 2024, the Jordan–Bryant card is now second overall and first among trading cards.
The demand is undeniable. Jordan remains the most searched athlete on eBay month after month, with his cards generating more than $34 million in sales between January and July 2025. Bryant isn’t far behind, ranking fourth with over $15 million in card sales this year.
For decades, Mantle and Wagner symbolized the peak of sports collecting. Now, a single card featuring Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, two of basketball’s most iconic legends, has claimed that crown. At $12.9 million, it’s more than just cardboard; it’s a symbol of how basketball’s cultural and financial impact has reached unprecedented heights.
