Jayson Tatum is undoubtedly one of the best players in the league. Having led the Boston Celtics to one of the league’s best records since 2022 began, Tatum is fast establishing himself as a dual-threat on both ends on the court that can take over games by himself. While legends like Paul Pierce have been praising him for his performances though, Tatum still has his detractors.

Nick Wright as an analyst is known how stubbornly sticking to his positions, his support for LeBron James being the GOAT and his criticism of Nikola Jokic are two great examples of this. And it seems he’s not buying into the Tatum hype, going as far as to say that the Celtics man isn’t even in the Top 15 players in the league.

A lot of these players have very good cases to be considered better than Tatum, but there are a few that don’t quite match up as well. Fans were quick to point this out on Twitter, ripping into Wright for rating Tatum as low as he has.

Bryan Moniz: “Nick Wright is a trolling dumba**. Tatum is a Top 10 player.

N-Jay: “God this man is an idiot lol.”

Begas: “Ja isn’t better than Tatum, I’ll die on this hill.”

Nate Deming: “Hater when it comes to anything Boston. Can’t recognize elite talent when he sees it.”

JaylenTheGoatBrown: “Never seen so much blasphemy.”

GNice: “Harden, AD, CP3, Butler, Dame, DMitch, & Morant shouldn’t be on this list…”

Justin: “Tatum is better than Booker, Morant, CP3, Jimmy Butler, Dame, Mitchell & AD.”

Berto: “JT is absolutely better than Butler and Spida IMO.”

El-Arquero: “This guy is a clown.”

Kiduce: “Grade A hating.”

Jayson Tatum is averaging 26.8 points and 8.2 rebounds a game while playing at an extremely high level on defense, so the reaction from fans is honestly understandable. Nick Wright may be right about some of those players but the best way for Tatum to prove that he’s not is to carry his current level of elite form into the playoffs.
