Donovan Mitchell

Donovan Mitchell is one of the premier young talents in the league and the face of the Utah Jazz. Currently, the electric shooting guard is putting up 25.7 PPG, 3.8 RPG, and 5.1 APG.

There is no doubt that the Utah Jazz have been a competitive team in recent memory, and that there's no reason for Donovan Mitchell to currently request a trade/depart from the team. However there has been talk about his potential destinations if he were to elect that route. Greg Sylvander of Five Reasons Sports has claimed that Donovan Mitchell's top choices if he were to leave are the Miami Heat and the New York Knicks, with the Miami Heat being the "first choice".

I believe this is well documented & relatively obvious but… I can confirm that if Donovan Mitchell were to ever ask out of Utah, it’s believed Miami would be his first choice and New York a more distant second as preferred destinations according to a league source.

Donovan Mitchell has not yet been linked with an exit from the Utah Jazz. However, both the Miami Heat and the New York Knicks would potentially be top-tier destinations if he were to leave, as he would be in some great cities either way, with a lot more exposure. It has previously been speculated that market size does in fact matter to Donovan Mitchell, so perhaps we could see him leave the team in the future.

As of right now though, Donovan Mitchell will focus on trying to win an NBA championship with the Utah Jazz. The team has now lot 4 games in a row, and Mitchell will hope to lead them to a victory against the Denver Nuggets on January 16th. Hopefully, they are able to get back to winning ways, and move upwards from the 4th seed.
