NBA Rumors: The Golden State Warriors Are Currently The Favorites For Landing Ben Simmons

The Ben Simmons saga is taking new surprising turns with each passing week. At first, it felt like the rumors about him leaving the Philadelphia 76ers were nothing but rumors. But now, it is confirmed that the disgruntled star wants to begin a new chapter in his career.

Following this news, many NBA teams are in the race to land the 3x All-Star, but all are facing one issue – the Sixers’ insane demands. Recently, the Sacramento Kings reportedly withdrew from the race to acquire him due to the same reason.

While Simmons is a good player, the organization has miscalculated his worth, it seems. Despite all these red flags, the Golden State Warriors still seem interested in pairing up Simmons with Steph Curry and co.

According to BetMGM, the Warriors are currently the favorites to land Simmons with the odds of +300. They are closely followed by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the odds of +400.

Where will Ben Simmons play next season? 🤔

If Simmons signs with the Dubs, he will most likely be expected to play as a Power Forward. He has played the position in the past and it won’t be a completely new thing for the 25-year-old.

The question still remains how will the two organizations reach an agreement? The 76ers are still asking way too much for him. They reportedly want a package around Andrew Wiggins and James Wiseman, coupled with a bunch of draft picks.

It is almost impossible to see this move become a reality. So unless the Sixers reduce their asking price for Ben, he most likely won’t be traded to the Warriors.

Additionally, there are still concerns around Simmons’ ability to shoot and score in general. He is a great defender and a facilitator, but shooting is not his strongest asset.

On the other hand, the Warriors are known for shooting a high volume of 3-pointers to run their offense smoothly.

Anyway, in the coming weeks, the future of Simmons will be decided. Where do you want to see Simmons play for the 2021-2022 NBA season? Do you think he will be a good addition to the Warriors’ roster? Let us know your views in the comments section below.
