One Year Ago Today, The Clippers' Wives Danced After Team Took A Big Lead In Game 5 Against Denver In the Western Conference Semi-Finals

The Los Angeles Clippers have experienced plenty of failure over the past few seasons.

In their most recent run, the Clips lost to the young and inexperienced Suns in the Conference Finals, marking yet another wasted opportunity for the franchise to capture their first-ever title.

But their first season together was arguably even worse.

After being considered the favorites in 2020, the Clippers talked a big game all year long only to lose in Round two after blowing a 3-1 series lead against the Nuggets.

It was a dark time for the team and their two stars (Kawhi Leonard and Paul George), who got clowned and laughed at on social media.

Even now, one year later, people still haven't forgotten that series.

On Reddit, fans exposed one video featuring the wives of Clippers players dancing on the sidelines during Game 5. And while nobody is blaming them for supporting their family, it does paint a picture of just how quickly the vibe change for that team.

Fans on Reddit responded to the video, pointing out how weird and awkward the situation must have been for the entire team after that series loss.

Here are the words of one particular fan about the ordeal:

This has to be the most unforgivable series choke ever. It wasn’t just that Denver was down 3-1, they also looked totally dead in the water in both Games 5 and 6 but somehow still managed to win. I still think the Clippers win this series like 7/10 times at least if you run it back but god damn was this just awful.

What followed that series was a series of moves by the Clippers, which included firing Doc Rivers to replace him with Tyronn Lue.

The team has yet to make amends for that brutal defeat in 2020, but with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, the Clippers still have a chance to make some noise in the West.

Until then, moments like these will continue to haunt them.
