The trio of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce was wildly successful together. In just their first season playing together in Boston, they helped the franchise win their first NBA championship in almost 20 years. The trio was incredible and had a lot of success together.
But that relationship soured when Ray Allen shockingly left the Celtics in 2012 to join the Celtics' Eastern Conference rivals Miami Heat. With the Heat, Allen won his 2nd NBA championship, and played a big role for them, making one of the greatest clutch shots in NBA history in Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs.
Garnett and Pierce were very unhappy with Allen's decision to leave, considering it a pretty significant betrayal from Allen. And their relationship stayed pretty tense over the years. But it appears that the NBA 75 ceremony allowed the trio to put their issues to bed and reunite under good circumstances.
And Paul Pierce has now attempted to shed more light on the relationship between Garnett and Allen. Paul Pierce shared a video on his Instagram story of Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett having a conversation with each other on the podium where the NBA 75 picture with all the players was taken.
The initial part of the ceremony made it seem as though Allen and Garnett were still butting heads, as Allen seemingly ignored Garnett while approaching the stage during the ceremony. But those concerns were put to rest when a picture of Allen, Garnett, and Pierce made the rounds on social media.
Allen and Garnett finally being at peace with each other will be great news for fans of the Boston Celtics. For years, fans of the Celtics could not celebrate one of their best teams in history because of a long-standing feud. But now that the feud is over, they can begin to make up for lost time and put together a full-team reunion.
