“Shaq Is A Freaking Idiot”: Former Lakers Players On Shaquille O’Neal’s Wild Pranks That Once Made A Commentator Sh*t His Pants

Shaquille O’Neal has always had a vibrant personality on and off the court for the public. Those who know him personally or well follow him regularly; they know that he loves to prank his friends and close ones regularly. Before his retirement, however, those pranks were apparently not limited to his close ones and almost always involved getting your hands dirty with feces.

According to former Lakers players Cedric Ceballos and Byron Scott, O’Neal had a weird obsession with pranking people in the locker room involving human feces in some way or another. Ceballos appeared on Scott’s podcast recently and recalled how O’Neal was in the locker room during the one and a half seasons they were teammates on the Lakers (1996-1997).

“Shaq is a freaking idiot, man. And he does stuff that’s so disgusting. First year with Shaq, I had the locker room next to Rudy’s equipment, the little itty bitty, right? And I have a view of the bathroom. You guys know that other locker room that’s on the other side, nobody ever takes that. So, when I first got there, they were like, “Where do you want to sit?” I was like, “What’s what’s up with this one?” The individual’s like, “Well, so I’m sitting there and Shaq is in there doing he can’t fit in the stall anyway and everybody who walked by, he like he’s showing his shit.”

“I’m like, “Dude, are you serious, bro? Are you serious?” He always would play with feces for some reason. I’m like, “Shaq, stop.” What are you going to do with a 7’1, 300 lb that’s trying to put some feces on you? I’m trying to be clean right now for the fans and the kids, but he always wanted to—Like, stop it, man. Stop playing with the sh** man. Come on. You know, I can I’ve never been to prison, but I can imagine if somebody in prison, like, “Hey, man. Are you going to wash these drawers? Hold on for a second. Let me put a little egg now. Go wash them.” It’s like that is extremely bad, man.”

Scott followed up and asked him if it was true that O’Neal once made the late legendary sports commentator Chick Hearn sh** his pants because he tripped him in the team bus on the way to the washroom. Not just that, apparently O’Neal went after him and snuck his dirty underpants out of the washroom.

“So the story is true then? And you might have been there at the time. I wasn’t there, but they said that you know, god rest his soul, Chick Hearns had to use the bathroom on the bus and he was trying to run to get to the restroom and Shaq put his feet out and tripped him and Chick ended up shi***ng on himself. And he went in the bathroom on the bus and and took off his stuff and Shaq went in to get his drawers with all the sh*t in them and put it in a plastic bag.”

“Now I don’t know if Diesel, I don’t know if you still got those drawers or not, but is that story true or not? Because I mean I’ve heard a bunch of stories about Shaq and sh*t,” said Scott as they all laughed.

“He seems to have some type of fetish with sh**. So I mean, after listening to what little brother said, I want to know if that story is true,” said Scott.

“I heard the same story. I don’t know. I don’t know if he went and got, you know, but I know I was there when he did that, but I don’t know if he went and got it–I heard that he did get it, but I’m not really sure. But the fact that– why would you go and get the man drawers—it’s not even a teammate. It’s Chick. I mean, Chick, we all love Chick. Why would you do that to him?” concluded Ceballos.

Shaquille O’Neal played for six teams in his NBA career. Almost every teammate has some or the other wild story to tell about him. Ceballos and Scott continued their conversation about Ceballos’ reflection on his life and career. You can read more about other things Ceballos said in the article below.
