LeBron James is one of the most popular athletes in the NBA, and for good reason. He has dominated the league for a long time, and LeBron James is still having a stellar year with the Los Angeles Lakers. As of right now, LeBron James is averaging 29.0 PPG, 8.2 RPG, and 6.6 APG.

One of the most prominent LeBron James haters has been analyst Skip Bayless. Bayless once even called James the most overprotected superstar in NBA history. Recently, however, Skip Bayless praised LeBron James and admitted that he’s actually a fan of the superstar.

I’ve watched LeBron as closely from Year 1, dribble one as anybody out there I believe. I don’t miss a LeBron game. You can ask my wife Ernestine… Friday nights, or date nights, I don’t miss LeBron. She just gotta wait… He looks better than ever. His body looks sensational to me… he looks down a few pounds from last year.

A skeptic has been turned into a fan. Keep it up because you can keep it up.

Many fans believe that Skip Bayless admitting his fandom for LeBron James happened due to the fact that Bayless received a lot of criticism for his response to a situation involving NFL player Damar Hamlin. Bayless posted the Tweet below and subsequently got criticized for focusing on the game rather than the player’s well-being.

No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game – but how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant.

It remains to be seen whether Skip Bayless has truly become a fan of LeBron James. The criticism he has directed towards LeBron James throughout the years clearly shows that he is a critic, but everyone has the ability to change.

The Los Angeles Lakers Could End Up Trading LeBron James In The Future

Even though LeBron James is a fantastic player, there is a chance that he could end up getting traded in the future. In fact, NBA insider Chris Mannix previously revealed his belief that LeBron James will get traded this offseason.

Let’s face it: LeBron James’s decision to extend his contract with the Lakers was a mistake. It was a mistake for James, who doesn’t need the guaranteed cash, pushing his deal through 2023–24 limited his leverage. It was also a mistake for L.A., which didn’t have the pieces to build a title contender around James and (this season, anyway) doesn’t have the flexibility to do anything with him.

In an ideal world, the Lakers use the cap space created by Russell Westbrook’s exit next summer to sign Kyrie Irving or Draymond Green, flip a draft pick or two and vault back into contention next season. But if that doesn’t happen, can the Lakers really go into 2023 with James, Anthony Davis and whatever group of castoffs they can assemble around them? Would James want to? Dealing James would take some chutzpah, but if L.A. whiffs on big-ticket items next offseason, is there really a better choice?

It is rare to see a player like LeBron James actually get traded, but there is a first time for everything. A trade could be the best option for both him and the franchise, especially if James wants to focus on winning championships.

As of right now though, LeBron James is still a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. He could still make it to the playoffs if he manages to put them in a position to play in the play-in tournament, and we’ll see what happens in the future.
