Skip Bayless ‘Shocked’ That The Lakers Lost Despite 34-Point Performance From LeBron James: “This Can’t Be.”

3 Min Read

The Los Angeles Lakers continued their losing ways in the preseason, now stretching it to the regular season. On NBA opening night, the Lakers hosted the Golden State Warriors at the Staples Center. Steph Curry put up a triple-double as the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Warriors.

Fans of the Lakers were surprised, despite their poor run in the preseason. Many felt that they would start the opening season with a win, even though their losing streak in the preseason left more to be desired from them. The Lakers were flamed by fans on social media, as they underwhelmed in their first outing.

Unsurprisingly, one of the first people to weigh in on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers loss to the Warriors. Bayless sarcastically noted that he was shocked by the Lakers losing, especially after LeBron put on a solid performance.

And the Lakers had a packed arena with celebrities like Lil Wayne and Jack Nicholson in attendance for the big game. On top of that, Curry being in poor form despite his triple-double were signs that the Lakers could and should have won the game.

“Wait, on a night LeBron was as hot as you’ll ever see him, and Steph was as cold as you’ll ever see him, the “new look” Lakers lost by 7 at Staples with Lil Wayne and Jack courtside??? They lost the 4th q 38-29??? This cannot be.”

As has been the case for several years, Bayless never misses a chance to poke fun at LeBron James whenever he comes up short. James did have a solid individual performance, scoring 34 points and making 5 three-pointers out of the 11 that he attempted.

The Lakers and LeBron won’t have much time to harp on that loss, as they have to turn their attention to Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and the Phoenix Suns, who beat them twice in the preseason. The Lakers will want to turn their season around with a win, and get moving toward their ultimate goal; the NBA championship.
