Shaquille O’Neal, for as dominant a player as he was during his legendary career, has found the same if not more success in his post-playing career.

Shaq has invested his massive wealth quite well and is a well-respected businessman and also is able to secure lucrative brand deals. Shaq may no longer be playing on a basketball court, but in the business world, he is still a superstar of the highest level.

So much so, that one of his friends, legendary rapper Snoop Dogg, wants to emulate his success in business. Speaking on Logan Paul’s ImPaulsive podcast, Snoop Dogg revealed that he is chasing Shaq’s success because he is inspired by him.

He also added that the reason he and Shaq have found so much success in the business world is that they emulated the great ones in the business world and learned from them (27:12 onwards):

“I’m chasing Shaquille O’Neal right now. Shaq got so many motherf*cking commercials and business. This is my friend. When I say I’m chasing him, that’s for the right reasons, nothing negative or hate. I’m inspired by him, I love how he took his basketball career, put it on pause, and took his business mind. You can forget that he was a basketball player based on how business-minded he is. To take your skills outside of the basketball court and create a business. I want to take my skills outside of the microphone, outside of the studio, into a business, that’s what I’ve been able to do. You should be able to do what you’re great at… Me and Shaq both studied. We come from the same era of studying the great ones. We studied the ones before us. We studied the great ones and then became great ones. Once we got out of that, we studied the business great ones, because we wanted to become great ones in that. Then we looked and said ‘hold on, we have a lot of personalities’. Some guys don’t know how to market themselves and brand themselves, utilize the ability of being a superstar 24/7. When their season is over, their season is over. But my season is just beginning.”

Snoop Dogg and Shaq became friends during Shaq’s stint with the Lakers. Snoop Dogg is an LA native and one of the biggest Los Angeles Lakers fans in the world. So it comes as no surprise that a superstar and superfan like Snoop would become good friends with one of the best players in the world and a Laker legend.

Shaq made another big move when it comes to his business ventures, as his ‘Big Chicken’ restaurant franchise is set to expand into Texas soon with multiple outlets. ‘Big Aristotle’ has shown he is just as dominant and relentless in the business world as he was on the basketball court.
