Stephen Curry was absolutely sensational for the Golden State Warriors in their first-round series against the Denver Nuggets.

Curry played incredible basketball to help the Warriors defeat the Nuggets in 5 games. What’s even more astonishing is that Curry was able to play at such a high level despite not starting games, coming off the bench, and playing with a minutes restriction due to an injury he is recovering from.

But it appears that ‘Sixth Man Steph’ is now over. During a post-game interview, Stephen Curry was asked by the reporter whether this would be the end of his tenure as the Warriors’ 6th man and he would start games again.

Curry noted that it was a good run coming off the bench, and he is glad to have had that experience, but he hopes that he never has to come off the bench for the rest of his career (1:49 onwards).

“That was a good run. At least I got that on the resume. But hopefully, never again.”

Curry spoke during the series about coming off the bench so that Jordan Poole could start the game.

He noted that to him, it was more important to be part of the closing lineup than start the game. But understandably, a player of Curry’s caliber was not going to accept being a sixth man for the entire Warriors’ playoff run. With a few days to recover, Curry will have time to get fit enough to start again.

Klay Thompson showed Stephen Curry a lot of love after the game, noting that Curry is the leader of the Warriors and that he is truly one of a kind. The Warriors seem highly motivated to win the NBA championship this year and prove that their dynasty is far from over at this time.
