Former Los Angeles Laker James Worthy didn’t hold back when he slammed the referees who manned the sidelines during the Lakers vs. Celtics clash.

The thriller saw Boston notch up a 125-121 win in overtime, but the Lakers unit was clearly upset with the refereeing as it cost them a chance to win an important clash.

Worthy, one of the players who responded to the poor officiating, made it clear that some changes had to be made.

James Worthy on LeBron getting fouled at the end of regulation: “That one right there pissed me off. That was one of the worst referee crews that I seen officiating a game… That referee crew shouldn’t get to call more big games… They should be ashamed, they really should.”

On the game front, James led with a spirited 41-point performance coupled with 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Anthony Davis came off the bench and played for 34 minutes picking up 16 points, 10 boards, and 4 assists.

Upset Anthony Davis Says The Lakers “Got Cheated”

The no-foul call against LeBron James in the final seconds of the fourth quarter cost the Lakers the game, and Anthony Davis made it clear that it was a sureshot victory LA was robbed of.

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of the loss, the big man said he was upset with the officiating.

“It’s bulls*** at the end of the day, it’s unacceptable… We got cheated tonight, it’s a blatant foul.”

It’s unfortunate that the Lakers have had games where the calls haven’t gone their way. As the playoff competition starts heating up, the team, placed 13th in the Western Conference will look to get as many wins as they can under their belt to make the postseason.

They are 23-27 and have 32 games left in the regular season to make the push. The Lakers play the Brooklyn Nets next, followed by a skirmish against the New York Knicks.
