“You’d Need Binoculars,” Spurs Fans Share Views From Record-Breaking Attendance Game Between San Antonio And Golden State

Videos from some fans in the Alamodome for the game that had record breaking attendance show that there were people that could barely see the players on the court.

Since 1999, the San Antonio Spurs have been one of the premier franchises in the NBA, winning championships and setting the benchmark for success. While they haven’t been at the same level the last few seasons, the Spurs are considered to be one of the league’s model franchises, especially considering how small their market is. And the ball club recently celebrated its 50th anniversary by breaking another record.

The Spurs played against the Golden State Warriors in the Alamodome, in a game that broke the NBA’s single-game attendance record. 68,323 fans packed the stadium, making it a truly special occasion for the franchise and indeed, a night for the history books. And while it was a night of celebration, San Antonio got blown out by the Warriors, but that wasn’t the only issue that some had with the whole event.

NBA Fans Reacted To The View Some Had From Their Seats In The Alamodome

The Alamodome is a huge multi-purpose stadium, meaning that the basketball court in the middle of the field was quite far away for those with tickets in the nosebleeds. There’s a reason NBA arenas are smaller than huge stadiums, and that became apparent from some videos that fans at the game shared. And many other fans were quick to react to those videos as well, questioning how those tickets could be sold.

“Ain’t no way. You’d need binoculars.”

“That setup looks like legal robbery.”

“Honestly, how can someone even sell those tickets?”

“This would be such a waste of time.”

“You’d need super vision to enjoy the game from there.”

“That’s a waste of money lmfao. Can’t even see.”

“Sitting that far back you might as well count the fans outside the stadium as attendees at other games.”

“At that point just watch it on TV.”

“This was a finesse. The fans got finessed real good.”

“Stephen Curry out there looking like an ant.”

“Honestly, the record seem less cool to me now.”

“What would the point of sitting there even be?”

While there is some truth to the fact that some fans would not have enjoyed a good view of the game, the experience itself must have been an incredible one. Being a part of history is always something interesting, even if it’s not exactly the way one imagined it might be. And if they are San Antonio fans, considering the result of the game, they were probably better off not being able to see too clearly.
