In what has become a much-anticipated tradition, NBA players who play on Halloween often show up to the games in costumes. While there is no official contest that takes place under the umbrella of the league, players often put their best foot forward with their costumes.

And this year, no player had a better costume than Victor Wembanyama, who dressed up as Kaonashi from the animated movie ‘Spirited Away’.

Not to be outdone, Pascal Siakam of the Indiana Pacers continued his streak of excellent Halloween costumes, as he dressed up as legendary rapper and signer Andre 3000 from OutKast, donning his iconic fit from the music video of their hit single ‘Hey Ya!’.

Russell Westbrook has cemented himself as a fashion icon in the NBA. And he wanted to protect that status with his Halloween costume, as he dressed up as the Joker, while still wearing a fashionable red jumpsuit. Perhaps Westbrook was paying tribute to his teammate, Nikola Jokic, whose nickname is ‘The Joker’.

Jay Huff, a two-way player on the Grizzlies, had arguably the funniest costume of the night, as he dressed up as Kyle Kuzma from a few years ago when Kuzma was wearing a comically large sweater with incredibly long arms. Huff even went as far as to get a similar beanie as Kuza to really complete the fit.

Anthony Edwards channeled his inner Bob Parr and dressed up as Mr. Incredible from the legendary Pixar movie ‘The Incredibles’. While his costume is undoubtedly fantastic, some fans were hoping that he would live up to his nickname and dress up as Ant-Man, the now-famous MCU superhero.

Perhaps the most underrated costume award should go to the Mavericks’ Daniel Gafford, who dressed up as the beloved children’s cartoon character, Inspector Gadget. The attention to detail Gafford put into his costume is up there with any other player on the list.

John Collins let the world know just how big a fan he is of Naruto, as he dressed up as Kakashi Hatake. Collins absolutely understood the assignment, as he got almost every detail of Kakashi’s look right, minus the hair. But we can look past that, as getting extensions that stay as rigid as Kakashi’s hair from the show would have been really difficult.

Mavericks’ young big man Dereck Lively II showed off his love for Steven Spielberg’s ‘Jurrasic Park’, as he dressed up as a ranger from the movie. Lively may be one of the bright young centers in the NBA, but he isn’t big enough to combat any of the dinosaurs in the movie.

Collin Sexton doesn’t usually hear his name called three times during an NBA game, but he pulled up tonight in a Beetlejuice costume. Sexton had the walk of Beetlejuice but after his 16 points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals against the Spurs, we can definitely say he had a better performance than the latest Beetlejuice movie did.

Sexton’s teammate, Walker Kessler, would have been worried about staying still when their coach walked in, as he was dressed up as Woody from the Toy Story movies. A great outfit choice from a man, who much like Woody in the franchise, is being linked to Hollywood.

While there were more players that put on costumes this week, we at Fadeaway World picked these 10 players as the ones with the best costumes this year. Hopefully, the competition will be just as tough, if not tougher next year.

These NBA stars undoubtedly showed out with their Halloween costumes. Fans can argue which player had the best costume out of them all, but the great thing to see is fans and players join in on the fun and festivities of the spookiest day of the year. We can only hope that more players take part in this tradition next year.
