After 12 years in the NBA, Russell Westbrook has officially etched his name in the history books.

During Mondy night’s match against the Atlanta Hawks, Russ captured yet another triple-double, surpassing Oscar Robertson for the most in NBA history.

Naturally, NBA Twitter was buzzing with reactions from fans all over the world…

Former NBA legends, including the Big O himself, each sent their own short message after the occasion.

It is no secret that Westbrook is known as a bit of a controversial player. Whether it’s his assassin mentality, failure to win a Championship, or sometimes reckless playstyle, his game has been the subject of major criticism over the years.

Nonetheless, he has made history today, proving to everyone just how special he really is.

While it’s easy for us to take triple-doubles for granted nowadays, it’s really not an easy thing to do for a game, and even harder to maintain it as an average over the course of a long season.

It’s good to see the community celebrating the Wizards star for an amazing accomplishment — though, Russ is probably focused on other things right now anyway.

As he hopes to help launch a successful playoff campaign, it’s going to take a strong performance by Westbrook to get his team deep in the bracket.

We’ll see soon enough how far he is able to take them…
