NBA Rumors: Chicago Bulls Are The “Perfect” Landing Spot For Lonzo Ball

New York Post

The future of 23-year-old Lonzo Ball has fallen under much doubt over the past few weeks.

With LaMelo and LiAngelo setting up a reunion in Charlotte, rumors are swirling that the eldest brother, Lonzo, might soon follow them to Buzz City.

But as plausible as that outcome might seem, there is another team in the mix for his services: the Chicago Bulls.

Speaking on the upcoming free agency period, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski described Ball and the Bulls as an ideal situation.

“I think in a perfect world for both Lonzo Ball and the Chicago Bulls, they end up together.”

With Zach LaVine, Nikola Vucevic, and Lauri Markkanen, the Bulls have a solid foundation to build on.

But after last season’s underwhelming 31-41 finish, it became clear that they need more if they want to become a legitimate threat in the Eastern Conference.

While their options remain somewhat limited this summer, signing Lonzo Ball could be one move that moves the needle for them.

While ‘Zo is not quite star material, his playmaking and perimeter defensive abilities have made him one of the most sought-after mid-level point guards in the league.

Unfortunately for the Bulls (and any other team with hopes of landing him), he’ll only be a restricted free agent, meaning the Pelicans have the power to match any offer sheet that comes his way.

For the Bulls to get him, they’ll have to hope and pray the Pelicans are willing to move on. Otherwise, the young star won’t be going anywhere.

Last season, the former Laker averaged 14.6 points, 5.7 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game on 41.4% shooting.
